Each category group can contain multiple subcategories. Budgets can be set on category groups or on categories. By setting a budget for categories, you can follow your expenses better and notice if you're going overbudget.

The bar to the of the category/group shows how much you've spent from your allocated budget and how much you still have available. The red part of the bar indicates what you've spent and the green part indicates what you still have left, including how much you're still allowed to spend. If the entire bar is red, then you are over budget and the amount displayed indicates how much you've exceeded your budget with. You also have a checkbox to always display the bar in the right side, wherever you are in the application.

You can also see your total expenses, and you can choose to set a total budget or allow it to be calculated by the sum of all categories.
